Periodically, the Clay County Sheriff's Office partners with state and other local agencies to conduct alcohol sales compliance checks.  Underage volunteers, under the supervision of law enforcement, attempt to purchase alcohol in local establishments and businesses. 

The most recent checks were conducted in May and June of 2009.  The results of those checks are available by clicking here.  Those businesses that were "in compliance" did NOT sell alcohol to the under-21 participant.  Those that were not in compliance did sell the alcohol product and the employee was then issued a notice to appear in court.  The vast majority of restaurants, bars and markets in Clay County abide by the law.
