Updated Information on Weekend Shooting Incident
Date: 6/8/13 Case Number: 2013-016158 Type Incident: Death Investigation
Victim: Hadrian Migel Robadan, 15 years old (remains in critical condition at Shands Jax; on life-support)
Location: 109 Hercules Drive, Orange Park (and nearby wooded area)
On Saturday evening Robadan’s grandmother advised she received communication from him that he was armed with a gun and wanted to kill himself. He was believed to be barricaded in his residence at 109 Hercules Drive and attempts to contact him there were made while a perimeter of the area was secured. Meanwhile, our agency received a call about a juvenile male jumping a neighbor’s fence. Deputies and a K-9 unit responded to that area three blocks away to investigate. Deputy Jason Graff (7 years with the CCSO) encountered Robadan in a wooded area. Robadan fired a handgun, then Deputy Graff fired his weapon. Robadan was provided medical attention and transported to the hospital (first OPMC, then Shands). It remains unknown at this time if the gun-shot wound was self-inflicted (suicide) or if Robadan was shot by the Deputy. The small-caliber hand gun used by Robadan was located in the woods and collected as evidence and work continues to determine how this juvenile obtained the weapon he used.
Per our normal procedure any time there is an officer-involved shooting, the FDLE was asked to respond and they are in charge of the investigation. They will collect all the evidence, witness statements and conduct ballistics testing. Also per our normal procedure following this type of incident, Deputy Jason Graff was placed on paid administrative leave. This is done any time there is an officer-involved shooting.
Please contact the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for updates regarding the progress of their investigation. Thank you.
