Clay County to Conduct 2pm Media Briefing at CR 218 Closure Location
Clay County Emergency Management officials, Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler and Clay County administrators will conduct a joint media briefing today at 2pm. Media is asked to meet these officials at the CR 218 West closure location (where the road collapse occurred last night).
CCFR Capt. Bernita Bush will send out a detailed update to you soon regarding first responders' overnight and morning activities, shelter figures, etc. We emphasize again today the importance of residents in low lying, flood prone areas making the decision to relocate sooner as opposed to later. It is much safer for public safety officials to navigate the swift currents and debris-filled waters during daylight hours.
