Clay County Man Dies in Tree Cutting Accident

Location: 2935 Guava Ct, Middleburg, FL
Narrative: On 04-26-2012 at approximately 2100 hours David Duve was assisting his brother, the victim Chester Duve, pull down a tree. Chester Duve was in the process of cutting down the tree with a chainsaw, which was stuck. Chester Duve wrapped a strap around the tree and tied it to a blue pickup that was occupied by David Duve. David Duve thought Chester Duve was clear and snatched the strap with the pickup truck, causing the tree to come down. The tree came down directly on top of Chester Duve, pinning him. Public Safety arrived at the scene, pulled Chester Duve free and administered CPR. Chester Duve was pronounced dead at Orange Park Medical Center. Next of kin was notified.
