Restaurant Opens Doors to Local Law Enforcement & Customers Open Wallets for Special Olympics
Clay County Sheriff's Office employees want your money – but this is no speeding ticket! It is the Tip-A-Cop fundraiser held annually to raise money for Special Olympics.
On Monday, April 23rd, Tuesday April 24th and Wednesday April 25th, a dozen CCSO deputies and staff will volunteer to take on waiter and waitress duties at the Longhorn Steakhouse on Fleming Island (located near the intersection of CR 220 and Town Center Blvd.) These volunteers will work both lunch and dinner shifts supplementing Longhorn’s regular wait staff.
Every penny of every tip given to one of the CCSO “waiters” will go directly to the local Special Olympics effort and benefits Clay County’s Special Olympians as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
Members of the media are welcome to come observe their table-waiting abilities and cover this worthwhile community event. Please call Marsha Otti with the Clay County Special Olympics at 759-8871 with any questions regarding this event. Lt. Kenney Wagner and Sgt. Mark Ottervanger may also be contacted by calling 904-213-6104. All three are also cc’d above. Thank you.
