Walmart Thieves Caught After Media Airs Photos

Suspects Caught Due to Media Showing Photos/Video

Update: a theft case first released back in November (original release below) was solved and arrests made thanks to a tip we received from a person who saw the suspects on local TV broadcasts and in the newspaper. This serves as another example of how crime can be solved and even reduced in our community thanks to the law enforcement/media/citizen partnership.

The booking sheet and booking photo for Marcus Lucas (suspect 1) is released today to media. He is in our jail. Suspect 2, Justin Brown, is held currently in the Duval County Jail on our warrant (see the JSO site for booking photo) and his warrant/affidavit is attached. Please contact Det. Layne (# below) with any follow up questions.

Kudos to all involved!
Mary Justino, CCSO PIO

ID Needed on Grand Theft Suspects

The CCSO is seeking the community's help in identifying two suspects wanted in connection to the theft of a flat screen TV from Wal Mart. The two subjects (surveillance photos attached) selected a $900 LG flat screen TV (new in the box), removed the security tag and headed for the front door. As they approached the front door one suspect went ahead to distract the greeter (striped shirt) while the second suspect pushed the television out the door to a waiting vehicle (photo of suspect van attached also). For more details, please review the attached incident report. Anyone with information is asked to call the CCSO at 904-264-6512. Detective Mike Layne of the General Investigations Unit can be contacted by media members who have additional questions at (904)213-6633.
Thank you,
Mary Justino
